Lomma Library north of Malmö in Sweden is an attractive venue to loan, read and seek information, participate in events and activities or just for the chance to meet other people. It is a creative arena of learning and culture.
The building has a simple shape and is completely covered by hot-dip galvanized steel sheets. It differs from all of its surroundings but creates a connection between the town and harbour environment with its boats and sheds. The library consists of several different materials which add life and hospitality, including wooden floors, ceramic tiles, steel, glass, stainless steel and concrete on walls and ceilings.
Overlooking the water is a small café building which is an architectural miniature version of the library and with the same steel facade and materials.
